Loading...Bola Academy is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school based in Gilroy, California, offering instruction in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for all ages. Classes are taught by John “Bola” Villarruel, who earned his black belt in Kuk Sul Do while training under the Grandmaster Yang and Master Daniels. He began his training with the GrandMaster in 1983, and has trained in the arts of Kenpo, Kung Fu, Kickboxing, Boxing, Capoeira, Kuk Sul Do, Thai Boxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu-(the ground game).
The academy is part of the Claudio Franca BJJ association. John “Magoo” Villarruel, aka “Bola” is the instructor and gives great detailed instruction. He shows a technique and explains why the technique works. He incorporates MMA and self-defense aspects of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in his teaching.
