Many professional fighters come here to spar in preparation for fights because of the talent produced here. Carlos Palomino, Julio Ceaser Chavez, Danny Green, Mikkel Kessler, Shane Mosely, Alfonso Gomez and Olympic Champion Tyrell Biggs are just a few whom have used this facility in the past for fight preparation.
The club was established from an old church in the year 1981 as a crime diversion program. In looking into the problems that faced the community, the club allows youngsters to constructively channel their energies into a
self-confidence building sport. Since then, some of the early members went on to become police officers, accountants and even a doctor, not to mention professional boxers.
La Habra Boxing Club is a non-profit organization that has to rely on donations from the community to keep the gym running!
