Loading...Since 1994, Jason Flame’s Tang Soo Do University has been providing instruction in Tang Soo Do and the martial arts in Moorpark, California. We have produced champions in life as well as in the martial arts. Headed by a staff of expert instructors and managers, Jason Flame’s Tang Soo Do University offers a number of programs for physical fitness and instruction in Tang Soo Do Karate, Krav Maga, and American Top Team MMA.
At the Tang Soo Do University we are not only interested in fighting skills, but in the development of each person as a whole. As a wise teacher once said, “these are the tools of everyday life, what you learn here, can be used elsewhere…” Nowhere is this more important than in our children’s programs where we embody the very same principles that you as parents are trying to instill in your children.
Although our techniques are based on century-old knowledge, it is our modern application of that knowledge that sets the Tang Soo Do University apart. We realize that each of you possesses different natural abilities; size and strength will vary from person to person, etc. That is why, once you have learned a strong foundation and ability in the basics, our program is individualized to match your physical capabilities and maximize your defense skills. Should the need ever arise, you will possess a firm understanding of exactly what it takes to both mentally and physically defend yourself and your loved ones.
Tang Soo Do University is proud to offer The American Top Team program, which is one of the largest and most active Mixed Martial Arts (“MMA”) teams in the world. The team has over 1,000 members, more than thirty of whom compete professionally in MMA, boxing, grappling, and muay thai events all over the world such as The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Pride, and K-1.
Master Jason Flame is a 5th Degree Black Belt in the Korean art of Tang Soo Do, 1st Degree Black Belt in Ketsugo Ju-Jitsu, a First Degree Black Belt in Hapkido, and has trained in the arts of Kickboxing, Tae Kwon Do and Shotokan. Earning his 1st Dan Black Belt in August, 1991 at the age of 17, Master Flame began teaching for Grandmaster Dennis Ichikawa at T.O./ Westlake Karate before beginning a martial arts program in 1994 at Moorpark’s Arroyo Vista Recreation Center. Master Flame is now the Chief Instructor and owner of the Tang Soo Do University and operates several after school satellite programs in the Ventura County area.
