DONT WASTE UR TIME. THESE GUYS ADVERTISE THEMSELVES AS MMA BUT ITS NOTHING BUT GI JIUJITSU. I CAME HERE WANTING TO FIGHT AND INSTEAD THEY PUT ME IN A GI ITS LIKE A PAJAMA. THE INSTRUCTORS ARE ALWAYS ON THEIR CELL PHONES ANYWAYS AND WHEN THEY AREN’T ON THEIR CELLS THEY DON’T CARE ANYWAYS. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THEIR PRO FIGHTERS THAT THEY THINK ARE GOOD. THE MAIN GUYS NEVER TEACH CLASSES ONLY THE ASSISTANTS WHO LOOK BORED AS HELL TO BE THERE.

IF UR IN DORAL UR BETTER OFF HITTING THE TURNPIKE AND GOING TO EVOLUTION MARTIAL ARTS (AKA TOUGH ACADEMY). THEY GOT CAGE, GREAT KICKBOXING, AND A REAL BRAZILIAN JUJITSU BLACK BELT THAT REALLY CARES PLUS EVERYBODY GETS EQUAL GOOD TREATMENT. ATT DORAL WAS A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME.

THE ONLY GOOD ATT IN IS COCONUT CREEK ALL THESE OTHER GYMS ARE JUST RIDING THEIR REPUTATION.

WHAT A JOKE THESE GUYS HAVE BECOME……………….

  • Pedro says:

With all the american top team hype, I really expected a lot more from this gym. Very weak…. this place stinks! Total scam school riding the coat tails of the att name. Casy = Truth. LMAO about the cell phone that happened to me too.

  • Jose says:

Ok the biggest problem these guys have is their attitude!!! I took Casey’s advice up here and went to Evolution but that was even worse.

I ended up sticking with Gracie Miami with the Valente bros. Why? They treat people like people. It is also a more traditional and real self-defense style.

ATT Doral and cell phones……. what the heck? The cell phone thing is crazy, it is immediately noticeable! Hopefully the instructors see this and put the damn things on vibrate while they teach. It’s kind of like a free for all at ATT Doral.

I give it 1 star out of 5. Maybe it wouldn’t have been so low if the expectations I had weren’t so damn high. The ATT name is huge, I guess all the gyms aren’t the same.

  • Alex V. says:

i didnt notice the cell phone thing but my instructor was eating a big mac while teaching us. he was walking around with a big mac in one hand and pointing out mistakes with his other hand. he was spitting out food as he coached. probably the same guy. the school had ok moments but its like these guys are saying. i quit after two months.

  • Jimmy says:

This school sucks, poor instruction. All hype! American Top Team Doral is watering down the ATT name.

  • 7DayTrialMember says:

Hmm, I’ve been doing the free week and going to all the classes for trial members(and got in a few that were not marked for me when I asked permission) I have yet to see any of the problems you guys are saying here (I came in with bad expectation from reading the comments but I figured since I’m interested in joining an MMA gym and this one is close I might as well give it a try), heres my review.

The Muay Thai instructor hasn’t wander off to get the phone and does tell you how to do things if you need help and the only time I saw him eat subway was when the class ended, which obviously there is nothing wrong with that, its like whining at someone for eating on lunch break.

on open (basically all skill levels here) Muay Thai the place was packed(around 6 times the size of the 8:30 Muay Thai class I went to and still a lot bigger than the 5:30 class) though he did still help people out a lot.

The beginner BJJ I notice that I didn’t get as much feedback from the instructor(I believe he teaches all BJJ classes, he seems like a nice guy but I can’t sometime understand him because of his accent) but it was just doing kimuras, teaching mount and such which I was familiar with and I had blue (or green I can’t remember) belt that was teaching me and another guy.

The late night MMA class was nice, not many people so they can focus on you more.

Overall Id say is good, not calling you guys liar of course, but just telling my experience so far with the place and it hasn’t been a bad one at all.

PS: You have to buy a $20 ATT shirt by the second day before they let you in.

  • Jorge says:

VERY OBVIOUS that 7daytrialmember is ATT Doral. Buddy, advertizing your sorry 7 day trail is weak sauce………. most gyms in Miami like Boca, Extreme, FFA, Gracie Barra, Evolution and others are doin 30 day free, so dont be too proud there pal. BUT lets play! Lets pretend your a 7 day trial member……….. so your saying that within a week there you are already seeing the instructor eat food??? LMAO!! I have been training for a while and have NEVER caught my instructor eating during his break at the facility but you have been there for less than a week and already saw your instructor eating during his “break”………. right!

YOU are the instructor who eats during class and this is the best you can do to try to cover up your DISRESPECT! You think your fooling anyone with your post? You couldnt even deny the eating! you had to try this tactic of admiting some sort of eating to try to throw us off. instead of talking on the interenet just stop eating and talking on your phone during class and just teach. That and stop giving prefferential treatment to the fighters and treat EVERYONE equaly.

  • 7DayTrialMember says:

Jorge, as I said I tried the 7day membership and I’m just honestly telling people what I experienced in the 7 days, and I’m pretty much going around trying the memberships of MMA gyms to see which ones to compare and stick with one, FFA does have a 30 day trial(and they give you some gear, not sure what exactly it was but I think it was some trunks, hopefully its really free.., anyways I’ll post a review of the place as 30day trial member) which sounds awesome and is the next one I’m going to go to(the one near FIU obviously), the ATT in coconut creek seems a little too far for me but I’ll give it a try after the month with FFA in Miami, anyways is not my fault that you are assuming things jorge, and I can clearly tell that you are biased and anything that isn’t bashing the place must be from an employee, god forbid someone actually had a good experience with the place =/.

Anyways what is wrong with eating at the lobby desk when-the-class-was-over? it was time for another different class with a different istructor, nothing wrong with that, if he was eating and on his cellphone during class then I would be the first one here saying that (unless it was an emergency call but then so would anyone) I would consider that very disrespectful.

  • Larry stracks says:

This GYM was very nice, great teachers (2 black belts) in each class i am still a member and its going great so far.

  • Ovidio Lorenzo says:

I’ll tell you is okay but not what i expected. I left and went to mma masters (aka team nogueira). MMA Masters haves incredible coaches i highly recommend this gym to anyone that wants to know no gi jiu jitsu and gi and mma.

  • Kyron says:

If you want to be taught just 4 techniques for a whole year (armbar, triangle, omo plata, and armbar again) than go and waste your money at American Top Team Doral. It has like 10 jiu jitsu white belts and they all wanna be pro MMA fighters. It shouldn’t be named American Top team, it should be named American Bottom Team. Seriously, this place is not worth it. There are many other gyms around that actually teach you technique and have a curriculum.

This place is a joke, ATT has a big name because of the gym in Coconut Creek. I did my weekly trial there, and all I can say is that “I wish I never went there”. DO NOT GO THERE, YOU’LL BE DISSAPOINTED.

  • John Diaz Pascual says:

Kyron, I have been at ATT Doral for about 1.5 years and first, I never met anyone named Kyron and you say you have been there before? I think you went for a FREE week and they squeezed you (white belts) and you realized you could not afford it and went to a hole in the wall gym, or a place that you’ll be left with no car stereo when your done training.

Danillo Villefort, is the head MMA and no gi BJJ, you know IFL,WEC,UFC vet. so I think he’s qualified to teach buddy. We also have Fabio Mello, You know pride just do your research…BUDDY…Or come in and ask for me JOHN PASCUAL.

  • Anonymous says:

2 things i find funny…1st: is it just me or do Casey, Pedro, Jose, alex v.(hilarious), Jimmy, Jorge, and kyron all sound a little too alike…hmmm…maybe its cuz its the same person…lol…2nd: the reason why you dont find any ATT Doral people on here eating shit is because they are too preoccupied training…

All the people that are on here are a bunch of haters that are scared shitless because ATT Doral is whooping the ass of everybody they go up against at any competition…so i challenge anyone to look at the facts and do ur research before u open ur mouth…

hmmm…i wonder how ATT Doral students are winning all competitions if their instructors are on cell phones and eating big-macs?…lol…c’mon people…grow up

  • anderson lunior says:

  • juan barrera says:

    guys

Thinks had changed a little, so this is an overview of what you going to find at ATT DORAL:

Great muay thai class by teacher capixu direct from brazil top school and a real MMA fighter.

Best BJJ class with two real black belts from brazil showing techniques and teaching real
    BJJ.

Please don’t answer this comment until you see for yourselves , i been there for the past year and a half , and with normal ups and downs this gym is turning into the real deal for learning serious BJJ, MMA and get in great condition.
