Loading...Martial Arts Training Institute is Cape Coral, Florida’s only multi-disciplinary martial arts academy, offering a full range of martial arts and fitness training courses, from wrestling (freestyle, Sambo, and MMA), Okinawan Kempo Karate(Goju Ryu, To’on Ryu, Shorin Ryu and Shito Ryu), Toride/Tuite, Kyusho, Krav Combatives, Daito Ryu Aiki Ju Jutsu, Submission Grappling, Systema, Tournament Karate training (Kata, Sparring and Weapons kata), as well as fitness and strengthening training.
We are also home to Defcon 1 MMA: As the school’s BJJ/MMA group, Defcon 1 is led by Jesse Victory and Phil Nuno, who are students of Paulo Ribeiro, a 2nd degree Blackbelt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and the lead instructor of Naples Gracie Barra. Also on our staff is Adam Blum, purple belt under Marcio Simas, a 5th degree Blackbelt in Gracie Barra BJJ at Gracie Barra Orlando.
All courses are taught by master-level Black Belts Steven Berkowitz and James King, with a combined 58 years in the martial arts and ways of Okinawan, Japan, China and Korea. Berkowitz holds an 8th degree in Karate, with lesser degrees in various other arts and King a 4th degree in karate, with lesser degrees in other arts.
