The foundation of this school has been built training mixed martial arts under some of the top martial artists in the world such as: Sifu/Guro Dan Inosanto, Sifu Francis Fong, Master Chai Sirisute, Erik Paulson, the late Herman Suwanda, Machado Brothers and the many others with whom Chief Instructor Lavonne Martin has trained.
By becoming a member of MAMA you will join a very select group of Sarasota martial artists. You will be someone on the leading edge of training. We offer Muay Thai, Filipino Arts of Kali/Silat, Wing Chun, Jun Fan Gung Fu/Jeet Kune Do, Maphalindo Silat and Grappling.
I have trained at M.A.M.A. for several years now and the staff and curriculum are second to none. I have spent my whole life training in various styles and have never found such a complete approach to martial arts in just one place as with M.A.M.A. The material is presented in a fun and easy to grasp manner while still offering an incredible workout and maintaining a level of structure and discipline one would expect. The student body feels more like a brotherhood (ladies included) of martial artists than a bunch of students trying to out do each other. All of this plus the JKD approach to personal growth and self discovery make this the best martial arts academy I could ever want to train at.
