The Okinawan Karate School is more than just another martial arts school, we are a family. From our fun annual event to our exceptional teaching techniques, it’s clear that we are the best Martial Arts school around! Michael Brewster, a 3rd degree Karate black belt, is the owner and instructor. We have recently implemented Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu into our school. It is with great pride that we have partnered with Smith Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to provide the best Jiu-jitsu instruction around! Instructors Sensei Michael, Joey Harnist, and the founder himself, Phillip Smith, will teach all classes in a personalized setting.

Classes are currently on Wednesdays at 8pm and your first class is free to try. We teach both Gi and no-gi techniques during the class so it’s the best of both worlds. The best part is it’s the ONLY BJJ program around taught by a BJJ Black Belt! Please make sure to check our website for the most schedule.

We are also a traditonal karate school teaching the art of Shorin-Ryu Matsubayashi-Ryu karate-do. Matsubayashi-Ryu was founded by Master Shoshin Nagimine in 1947, but can be closely traced back to the original art of Te (which is hundreds of years old). You will find traditional Karate taught at our school with a high level of disipline all while sweating and having fun. Our dojo in Forsyth, Georgia, has been in business for over 23 years. We have recently opened a second school in Macon on Zebulon Road. Classes are taught in Macon by Josh McLemore, one of Sensei Brewster’s top students with over 10 years of training.
