Saraiva Mixed Martial Arts in Doraville, Georgia, is Atlanta’s premier Academy for Nova Uniao Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and Boxing training. Head instructor and UFC veteran Diego Saraiva, black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, has made his mark in the 155 lb. and 145 lb. divisions in MMA across the country. Diego and business partner, Koon Lau, opened the gym to create a family atmosphere that encourages learning, fitness, and general quality of life for all those who participate.

Saraiva MMA is not only a gym, but has quickly become a gathering place for students of many gyms, hosting an “open mat” session on Friday nights that is free for anyone who wants to attend. Ideas are shared and friendships formed, a result few gyms can ever claim.

Saraiva MMA offers classes for all fitness levels and ages, with the goals of learning new skills and improved health. Many who attend classes are simply there for good fitness, while others are more serious about a career involving Mixed Martial Arts. Kids’ classes are offered as an introduction to fitness, fun, and discipline. Families are important at Saraiva, as Moms, Dads, and kids can be seen in the gym learning together.

Conveniently located, you are always welcome to stop by the gym to visit– the first week of classes is free just so we can prove to you that Saraiva MMA is the place you want to be!

The best gym ever! Before I came to Saraiva MMA, I went to many other gyms and I can honestly say that this gym is the best in so many aspects. The trainers are very skilled and knowledgeable, and really work with you on an individual level. They don’t make you feel like you’re just another student in the class; they really pay attention to what you want to get out of it. I started off with the muay thai class with trainer Koon Lau and within a couple of weeks, I started seeing results. He’s a very friendly guy and is really attentive to what you want. Unlike other gyms, Saraiva MMA trainers work with you one-on-one for the first week to see what class is best for you and what exactly are your fitness goals. Recently, I started taking boxing classes with Coach Jose and he is just great. I definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to get into shape and start living a healthy lifestyle.

I’ve been coming here for about a year now and I love it. Its become almost like a second home. I take all the classes and love the results it has gotten me. Before I just went to regular gyms and lifted weights but since I came here I finally got a body that I am way more proud of lol.

The instructors are great. All of them with many years under there belts. I don’t think any of them have any less then 15 years experience in martial arts. They really know how to tweak your game and how to push you to get better results. Not only do I get a great work out from here but I walk away with new self defense skills and refined ability. I’ve never won a athletic award before I started coming here but thanks to the jiujitsu program I have earned multiple gold medals in local tournaments (something to make my parents proud of)

The staff and fellow students are like a big family. I’ve met many people now from many different walks of life who are now my close friends. Everyone smiles here and are always understanding and welcoming to new people. But leave your pride at the door and be humble cause meat heads tend to get filtered out pretty quick. Oh and when UFC events come up on T.V. you can always count on a party/cookout with your new gym family.
