It was the first wrestling program of its kind in the United States. “The Edge” has cultivated some of New Jersey’s best all-time wrestlers and the goal is to continue this tradition everyday the doors open in the new location. Youth wrestlers ages 6 to 14 years of age will be instructed by a highly experienced and accomplished coaching staff, while training with quality workout partners in a great practice environment. These characteristics embody everything that has made the Edge surpass the rest. “The Edge” program has a track record and history that is in a league of its own. When it comes to tradition and results, no other wrestling school program can compare.
Edge Hoboken MMA marks the birth of the Edge School of Wrestling’s transition into the Mixed Martial Arts world. For more than 25 years the Edge has been known as one of the most elite wrestling schools in the US training youth, high school, collegiate, and World and Olympic level wrestlers. The Edge has integrated the same philosophy, assembling a committed and accomplished team of Mixed Martial Arts experts with quality work out partners in a great practice atmosphere. The wrestling based aspect is what separates the Edge from other mixed martial arts schools. Classes will be offered in the disciplines of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, Submission Grappling, Muay Thai Kickboxing, and Strength and Conditioning. Whether focused on developing a specific combat discipline, seeking competitive training, or looking for a challenging way to get in the best shape of your life, Edge MMA has a class for you.
Edge Wrestling Hoboken is a multifunctional training facility. It provides the athlete the opportunity to train their skills on over 1,400 sq. ft. of new Resilite wrestling mats. All the walls are fully padded to ensure safety for those moments of intensified training. High ceilings span the entire training area and expansive windows allow natural light to permeate throughout. The basketball court area lends the facility plenty of room for future expansion, plyo-metric alternative training, and shooting some hoops. There are two multi-sex bathrooms available to change into practice gear, shower, and store valuables in lockers.
The upstairs lounge provides an area to observe practice and enjoy the company of others or watch television on one of its many flat screens. Sixx Design Group, the internationally renowned New York City designers, has recently renovated the entire space giving it a practical, modern, and vintage mix.
The Edge is located on the second level above Hoboken Car Wash. The entrance into the facility is located on Newark Street between Grand and Adams. The Edge is a short walk from the Hoboken Train Terminal/Path Station and is on the NJ Transit 87 Bus Route. There is a pay parking lot at 77 Park.
Edge offers a good mix of different styles and martial arts, and integrates them into all around training. They have a unique relationship with a couple of other local schools that lets their students train at some other locations as well. And of course their wrestling knowledge is the best on the east coast.
