Loading...The Tae Kwon Do Institute is the longest running Martial Arts School in Northeastern North Carolina, located in Elizabeth City. With over 20 years teaching experience in the Martial Arts, we offer programs in Tae Kwon Do, Submission Wrestling, Thai Boxing, and Mixed Martial Arts.
Tae Kwon Do Institute is home to Team Sprawl & Brawl, the first amateur Mixed Martial Arts team to bring Championship recognition to North Carolina. Team Sprawl & Brawl was founded in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, June of 2000 by Donnie Tinsley and Mike Kellar. We welcome all people to join our Team. Advanced students as well as beginners, men & women, all can benefit from our MMA Program. Adult program includes teenagers – adult. Under age 14 is recomended to start with Youth Grappling. Classes include a combination of Submission Wrestling, Brazilian Ju-juitsu, Thai Boxing, American Boxing & TKD.
Our Team members are dedicated and have put much time into their training and the success of Team Sprawl & Brawl. Members have successfully competed in AFL Fight to the Finish, King of the Ring, Modern Gladiators, Cage Fest, IKF & NAGA events.
