Northwest Training Center is open to people of all ages and skill levels. During the week, there are several classes offered throughout the day and Saturday is open gym day. Gerald Strebendt is the head instructor of 10th Planet Eugene. Gerald started jiu jitsu in ’99 under Chris Brennan after being stationed with the Marines in Southern California where he became a sniper. He started training with Eddie Bravo right before his debut pro fight in MMA, winning the fight via armbar, with a setup Eddie had shown him leading up to the fight. After that Gerald started making the trip from the O.C. to L.A. to train, and eventually permanately moving to train full time with Eddie. Gerald is a UFC veteran and is the former 155 lbs Cage Rage champion. 8 of his 9 wins have come way of submission and he was the first person to pull off the Twister in an MMA match. Gerald has moved to Springfield and continues his teaching of the 10th Planet system at his gym, Northwest Training Center. Gerald became only 1 of 4 black belts under Eddie Bravo in March 2010.
The Northwest Training Center/10th Planet Eugene is the place to come to learn the 10th Planet system and to be a real fighter. Gerald is a UFC vet with vast knowledge in fighting. The rest of the coaches and fighters work hard to make you feel comfortable and become a stronger fighter. This is where you train to become a champion.
