Marcus “The Wrecking Ball” Hicks is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu as well as a professional boxer and mixed martial artist. He is currently undefeated in MMA and is fighting for the WEC. Marcus teaches Brazilian jiu-jitsu, boxing, MMA, and muay thai at his school in Lewisville, Texas. Hicks MMA & Jiu-Jitsu is equipped with a full size boxing ring and cage, as well as a separate matted area for jiu-jitsu.

Marcus’ fighting style can best be described as the ‘pivotal meeting place of stand-up and ground fighting.’ He is extremely well versed on the ground, but has no qualms about remaining standing. Marcus feels the best offense is always a good defense and he will continue putting pressure on his opponent, not allowing him time to mount an offense. Simply put, be aggressive, dictate the pace of the match by putting your opponent where you want him, and continue to drive him until you defeat him or he submits. The core of his training entails mental conditioning, strength and cardio training, perfecting techniques, proper nutrition, and plenty of rest.

As a coach, Marcus has trained and coached many people in different styles and levels of the fight game, but one thing is constant with all his students: they consistently improve and all begin to rise to the top of their respective divisions. Marcus states, “I will do everything I can to get you where you want to be. As a coach, I feel my job is more than just teaching techniques. I have to be able to understand what my students want to achieve and then give them the tools they need in order to be victorious.” Whether you’re training for competition, want to defend yourself, or just want to have fun and lose weight, Coach Hicks will tailor a training program to help you reach your goals.
