  • I’ve been in BJJ for 10 years, I’ve trained under some of the top BJJ players in the world. Former students who get kicked out or leave and say that I learn all my techniques online just because my Professor has his own business of selling DVD’s is the most ignorant thing I’ve ever heard. Apparently the person who write this review knows nothing about the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu community, associations or what it takes to make it in our art. I guess this means that any BJJ Instructor that has a Professor who sells DVD’s is fake. Ignorance is gross. This entire comment is ignorance at its best, not to mention very disrespectful to myself, my academy and my Professor Marcello Monteiro.

I am a current student of Brazlilian Jiu jitsu of Tacoma, and my experience has been wonderful, we are a family who are only interested in the respect and progression of jiu jitsu. Michael Proctor expects nothing more than respect for yourself and the academy. These are very simple philosophies that any person should respect. I am truly sad that someone would try dishonor our academy. But I do say it shows how cowardly this man truly is, considering he would not state his name, and make such terrible false statements, I have seen and trained with Marcello Monteiro personally and watched him award Michael his brown belt. I love my academy and would defend my family at any cost. Juan B.
