I’ve been training at Valhalla Academy for just over two months and I have nothing but good things to say about this gym. I had no previous grappling or martial arts experience before I started and am an older student, which in many gyms would be large hurdles to overcome. However, I fit right in here and am an accepted part of this community.

Brian provides top-flight instruction, is receptive to questions and always has time for students, both on and off the mat.

I highly recommend Valhalla Academy as a place to train.

I started at Valhalla Academy [Valhalla is the resting place for dead heros in Norse Mythology] a month ago and have been to 6 sessions so far. It’s a great environment for training in a lot of ways. There’s a strong community, a good variety of belts and nothing but right attitudes.

Brian is a great, no-nonsense instructor.

I have been at Valhalla for about 6 months now, prior to that I was at sister school of ours in Lexington for about 13 months. I truly enjoy being part of this gym. Good people train here in a safe environment. You will make friends inside of class that carry over to outside of class. The instruction is great and flows logically, allowing those inexperienced and experienced to progress at the same time. Intro class is free, so come on by and check us out. It can be intimidating to sign up but you will not regret giving it a try.

Awesome environment, great training, you will definitely be challenged, and there is nothing like learning something then applying the technique. Brian Jones is a great instructor, and always has great material.
