The Gracie Barra Maine instructor and students travel the United States and Brazil for competitions. You don’t have to compete to get promoted, but competitions are a good way to challenge yourself. We have state champions (Maine and Vermont) and our instructor is a Brazilian State Champion, Vermont State Champion and a New England adult expert division champion 2008 under The New England Grappler Association (NAGA).
