At American Top Team- Savage, Minnesota, our mission is to provide you with the highest quality training in Mixed Martial Arts, Thai Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, Wrestling, Martial Arts, and Self Defense for your overall health and fitness.

Although the majority of our students will never compete, we have a very active competition team competing monthly in Mixed Martial Arts, Thai Boxing, Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Submission Wrestling tournaments. We also offer character development for children through our kids mixed martial arts karate program. Your children will learn Mixed Martial Arts, which is a mix of Thai Boxing, Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Wrestling. Along with awesome self defense, they will learn how to become leaders, to speak in public, to set goals, self discipline, honor and integrity.

Even though we have a gym full of fighters, 95% of our students are just wanting to get in the best shape of their lives, while learning how to defend themselves in the most realistic setting, using what’s proven to work. Getting a fighters workout is exhilarating, relieves stress, and releases endorphins that flood your body with a sense of well being and accomplishment by just knowing you’re doing right by your body.

The class that I got to try out was a lot of fun and a great workout so I signed up. You have to sign a YEAR LONG CONTRACT which at the time I felt was fine. There are two ways you can get out of the contract, move 25+ mi from the gym or have a PERMANENT disability/injury. After a couple months of going I started to get sever back pains and my doctor recommended that I no long participate. I was also moving and found out that I had cancer. Unfortunately I didn’t not move far enough away (needs to be 25+ Mi from the gym) and my doctor kept losing the form that he had to sign and then said he did not want to sign the release form in case by some freak accident I got into a horrible accident and needed help from health insurance. If a permanent disability form (which is the only form you are able to sign if you have a disability) was out there insurance may not cover me.

I just couldn’t believe that after all the crap I was being put through they wouldn’t let me cancel. It’s not like I planned on the sport hurting me and getting cancer.

To top it off the owner Eric is a self-righteous know it all bull headed jerk (trying to be somewhat PC). You are not allowed to talk during class or if you are in the parents seating area watching. If you are looking for a gym that will have fun kickboxing classes this is not the place to go. This is where you go if you are looking to compete seriously.
