At SAGA (Striking and Grappling Arts) in Lincolnton, North Carolina, we teach a system to address the three ranges of unarmed combat. For striking we teach Kadaka Ryu, a full contact style of Karate. For Clinching/Throwing range we teach Judo. For Grappling and ground fighting we teach Brazilian Jiu jitsu.
We blend these three arts to have the most powerful combat system possible allowing the strengths of each style to compensate for any weakness or omissions in the others. Despite our willingness to mix martial arts, we also respect the uniqueness of each and offer ranking in each style respectively.
SAGA is a competitive school which encourages its students to compete in Jiu Jitsu, Judo, and MMA competitions for both personal enjoyment and to assure that our martial arts stay strong and realistic. SAGA is a chartered School under the SMA network, the United States Judo Association, and the World Kadaka Ryu Martial Arts Association respectively.
